Turnkey project for the construction of a 132 kV overhead power line called “Hirgigo-Asmara” for a total length of 71 km and three 66 kV overhead power lines called “Asmara-Dekemhare / Asmara-Mendefera / Belesa-Keren”, for a total length of 153 km. 
The entire project took place in mainly mountainous terrain at an altitude between 1,400 m and 2,500 m, with the main line covering a difference in altitude from 0 m to 2,400 m in just a few kilometres. 
The greatest difficulty was having to operate in a country at war, which necessitated the sudden evacuation of all expatriate personnel due to the bombing. 
Supervision of the works was carried out by Lahmeyer International GmbH, Germany.
