We have designed and built several uphill transport systems, including cableways.
The images here illustrate the ENEL cableway in Val Gerola (province of Sondrio), a single-cable system with 2 cabins.
With the assistance of a trusted technical expert, we designed the new Enel service cableway, which connects the Gerola hydroelectric plant and the Trona upper dam with the plant’s reservoir basin: a departure station, an arrival/return station and intermediate support towers. In this case, we also mounted the cables (carrier and traction) of the new facility.
The downhill terminal was built with conventional methods, while helicopters were used for the arrival points (and for stringing the cables). The intermediate pylons were erected by exploiting the old cableway as a service carrier; it was later demolished on completion of the works.
